Do you provide food?
The picnic sets have everything that you need to cater it yourselves, or ideally your guests will all bring along a dish each for you to share. You have beautiful serving plates, chopping boards, plates, cuttlery, wine and water glasses, salt and pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, cool boxes, napkins and ice buckets. What if it rains?
If heavy rain or strong winds are forecast for the day of the picnic and that is the reason for canceling, then you will receive a full refund, or we can reschedule to a different available day. If it starts raining after the picnic has started, all is not lost! The blanket can be quickly rolled up with the waterproof groundsheet and pegged down, and there is room for a small group and the table inside the canopy, which can also be partially closed. While the fabric is not waterproof, and does keep light rain off for a few hours, provided that it is not torrential. As soon as the sun comes out again you can quickly roll the blankets back out again and it will all dry off in no time. There is also a disco ball and emergency rations to keep you entertained, should you have to hide in the canopy for a short while. Keep a sense of humor, turn up the music, have another glass of wine and tell each other stories.
Can it be set up anywhere?
Hmm well not really. The picnics need a space where there are plenty of trees with strong, low branches from which to hang the canopy (although for the mini that's not a requirement). It also has to be easily accessible by public transport and located centrally in Zürich or as far down as Wollishofen/Chinagarten, although I can travel a bit further if the Uber costs are covered - ask me and I'm sure we can work something out. Having visited all the parks in Zürich to find the best spots, the best locations are Schindlergutpark, Rentenwiese, Chinawiese and Irchelpark. These all have public toilets, trees, lovely views, public transport, bins and enough space that you can find a spot.
How can I keep it a surprise for a proposal?
If you are planning to propose to someone with one of the picnics, congratulations - you already have excellent taste! There are so many ways to make the experience really special for them. When you send me your live location I can start playing the music as approach the set up, and will have a bottle of champagne chilling in the ice bucket and the food ready. I can take a few photos for you and then leave you to enjoy. Each set comes with a book of love poems in English and in German, and I can include a flower crown for them to wear.
Would it work as a small wedding party?
Absolutely it would! Both Chinawiese and Rentenwiese are a short tram ride away from the Rathaus, so after you've got married you can celebrate in style with your closest friends and family. The picnic sets are the perfect solution for couples who don't want to spend a fortune on a big wedding, but still want something more special than lunch in a restaurant. You can have the whole day with your very own bohemian paradise to drink chamapange, dance around and be merry. It is also a great option for Zürich's many expats who may be having their main wedding in their home countries, but still want a party with their local friends that won't break the bank. I'll work with you to make sure that it is the most delightful little wedding party that you could dream of.

I really wanted a way to have some privacy while breastfeeding, to keep the sun off her in the summer and to have a place to change her and put her down for a nap while we spent the day outside. The picnic sets are tried, tested and definitely baby friendly! Older children also love them, because what's not to love about your very own magical fairy picnic? You will notice that passing little ones will all stop to look at the flowers and the beautiful colors.
